Fiorella, a remarkable woman from Lima, Peru, felt a calling to deepen her connection with her ancestral roots, a journey that ultimately led her to the sacred mountains of Cusco. There, she first encountered the Chuncho variety of cacao, whose little yellow pods and the communities that nurture them transformed her understanding of her own heritage. Moved by this profound experience, she resolved to share the energy of this plant medicine with others. This vision led her to create Kaukawa: a venture dedicated to sharing ceremonial cacao with the world, cacao that is blessed by the elders of the Q'ero people in the Andes. To honor this gift, Kaukawa processes the bean at its origin, works with native and organic varieties grown in agroforestry systems, ensures fair payment to producers, and promotes education around cacao as a superfood deeply aligned with ancestral cultural practices.

Kaukawa

Kaukawa ceremonial cacao is crafted from selected Chuncho cacao beans, a variety native to Cusco, Peru. This cacao has been preserved for over 3,000 years by the Matsigenka Indigenous people. Grown in the rainforests beneath the highlands of Machu Picchu, this cacao thrives at the highest altitudes. To honor its sacred purpose, each batch is blessed by the Q'ero elders, the hereditary wisdom keepers of the Andean tradition.
